| Education Program |
The education program provided by HRAG is an engaging program offering both theoretical and practical classes in response to touring exhibitions as well as the Gallery’s Permanent Collection. This responsive and flexible program provides school and community group tours that range from general talks to specifically tailored Gallery experiences. These floor-talk style tours promote a greater appreciation of art through better understanding and comprehension of the works as well as the artist’s motivations. |
Alongside these theoretical tours the Gallery also runs a variety of practical creative workshops to compliment participants’ appreciation of the exhibitions. These classes are structured to engage with specific age groups, with classes ranging from the after school program my first painting on canvas for primary aged children through to life drawing for adult participants. In addition to these practical classes the Gallery also sources professional development opportunities for teachers within the region. |
The Gallery’s education program is funded by the Strategic Partnerships Program through the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development as well as the Horsham Rural City Council.
